Troubleshooting
Start from what went wrong
Nobody searches for “air conditioner repair” when the air stops being cold. They search for what happened. These 34 pages are organised the same way — by the symptom, not by the system.
Each one leads with what the symptom usually means and the single highest-yield thing to check, then ranks the likely causes, separates what you can safely check from what needs a technician, and says plainly whether the coach can still be driven.
Air conditioning
Not cooling, freezing up, tripping breakers, and refusing to run on a generator.
Refrigerator
Absorption and compressor fridges fail differently. Which you have decides the diagnosis.
Electrical and battery
Two independent systems — 12V DC and 120V AC. Which one failed is usually obvious once you know to ask.
Generator
Will not start, starts then dies, or runs with no power reaching the coach. Three different faults.
Water system
Pumps that cycle, pumps that will not run, and pressure that is not what it should be.
Water heater
No hot water on gas, on electric, or at all — and the bypass valve that imitates a dead heater.
Furnace
The airflow proof stands between a propane burner and your coach. Most no-heat faults stop there.
Slide-outs
Rooms that will not move or travel crooked — and why retrying is the expensive mistake.
Levelling and jacks
The system that can strand a coach, and the one where nobody goes underneath.
Roof and leaks
Water enters at a penetration and appears somewhere else. Tracing beats patching.
Tanks and toilet
Odour indoors means gas is taking a path it should not. Usually a seal or a vent.
Awning
More urgent than it looks — an extended awning cannot be driven and wind destroys them.
Next step
Work through structured triage for this system and you will end up with a written service brief: what you observed, in what order, and what has not been established yet. It is the document that lets a technician quote properly instead of guessing on arrival.
Being straight about what this is. No technician is signed to any territory yet — not one. We do not match you, dispatch anyone, or promise a call. What you get is the brief, and a request form that copies it to us so we know the demand is real. If you need someone today, take the brief and send it to a local technician directly; it works just as well that way.
